Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercialization Project Manager to lead the successful execution of product and business initiatives from approval through market launch and ongoing lifecycle management. This role is responsible for coordinating cross-functional activities, managing project timelines, ensuring operational readiness, and driving alignment across departments to deliver projects on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Manage product and business initiatives from approval through commercialization and post-launch support.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple departments to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Escalate critical issues and resource constraints when necessary to support successful execution.
  • Ensure projects move efficiently through established development and approval processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with teams across sales, operations, procurement, finance, quality, customer support, regulatory, and product development functions.
  • Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, and stakeholder updates.
  • Assign and track project deliverables to ensure accountability and timely completion.
  • Drive decision-making by gathering information, presenting options, and aligning stakeholders.
  • Foster transparency and communication across all project participants.

Product & Process Lifecycle Management

  • Support implementation of product updates, reformulations, packaging modifications, and operational improvements.
  • Lead change management activities associated with existing products and services.
  • Coordinate end-of-life planning and transition activities for discontinued offerings.
  • Ensure all changes are documented, communicated, and executed according to established procedures.

Portfolio & Reporting Management

  • Maintain a portfolio of active initiatives and project priorities.
  • Prepare and communicate project status reports, dashboards, and leadership updates.
  • Monitor launch readiness and provide visibility into timelines, dependencies, and risks.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics, including:
    • Project completion rates
    • On-time implementation performance
    • Cycle times
    • Resource allocation
    • Portfolio health indicators

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve project execution.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of project management tools and systems.
  • Develop best practices and standardized processes to improve efficiency and collaboration.
  • Contribute to initiatives that accelerate execution and improve organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, product commercialization, operations, product development, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional projects from inception through launch.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience utilizing project management software and collaboration tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Preferred

  • Experience working within manufacturing, consumer products, food and beverage, distribution, retail, or similar industries.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or comparable credential.
  • Experience with stage-gate processes, portfolio management, or product lifecycle management methodologies.
  • Proven success driving accountability and achieving results in cross-functional environments.
